Our company name SERES comes from the word used by the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations to describe the region of the world were the Silk trade originated. In fact, many linguists trace the origin of the word “Silk” to the word “SERES.” Historians note that the Greeks called SERES a region of what today is known as central China; the birthplace of luxurious silk of the trade-route itself. The Romans referred to the Silk Route as SERES, like the Greeks and the Romans we seek to facilitate trade into and out of Chin,a but with a clear focus on the "new" global enconomy. Different to the thousands of trade companies in China and other countries, we are focussing on the trade relationship between the "emerging economies". Twenty years ago we thought of South America as competitive with China in terms of manufacturing, today we know that there is a fast and strong development of trade between the two emerging economies. China needs many of the vast resources that South America has and South America needs inexpensive technologies for it's emerging middle classes.
Our core activities are:

- We market selected raw materials from South America into China and Taiwan.
- We offer sourcing and project management services for companies seeking to purchase products in China and Taiwan.
- We offer consulting services for foreign companies seeking to establish office or manufaturing in China, Taiwan, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, Spain and Chile.
SERES ITC is headquartered in Shenzhen, China and has offices in Taipei, Taiwan, Denver, Colorado USA and a representing office in Panama City, Panama. Our company has the internal capability of conducting business and negotiations in English, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), Taiwanese and Japanese.
